About
About….Me?
So, who am I to be writing this blog anyway? Nobody really, ultimately nobody. That’s the real paradox, to “know” who we really are requires being in a state of “just being” without the border and boundaries that define this illusion of self. So, as the man said, “I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.”
Am I a teacher? No. Although something may appear in these writings that someone will learn something from, or more accurately, be reminded of. Am I a guru? Definitely no. Am I an enlightened being? No…still hoping, maybe many lifetimes from now…it’s kind of looking that way.
I am a seeker, a student, a follower and disciple of Truth, a lover of life and it’s Source. I like to write so this is an opportunity for me to ramble on. Hopefully it will be fun and possibly even of some value…who knows?
Now that we have that cleared up I can say that the course of my life in this unbelievable realm of existence has been a spiritual journey pretty much from the start. Well, absolutely from the start but at least somewhat consciously very early on. Real study and seeking began right around the beginning of the psychedelic era and I received a lot of inspiration from Richard Alpert who soon became Baba Ram Dass, then became Richard Alpert again and finally became and so far remains, Ram Dass. I was also inspired by John C. Lilly and many authors of various books on Indian philosophy and Buddhism.
I had a wonderful yoga teacher from India named Raj Mangathrai who had been a general in the Indian army. He sent me to an Indian woman named Srimata Gayatri Devi who became my teacher and guru for over twenty years until she left the body in 1995. It is mostly just from her presence and grace that I have come closer to knowing Truth, if in fact I actually have come closer. That is not for me to say, or assess or even be concerned with. As long as we still think we are a “me”, the highest approach we can take is to be an instrument in the hands of the highest power, in the hands of the Divine, or a servant of the Divine. So if I play my role well I will be here as an instrument, try to be of service and see what comes through.
If you are here too, I welcome you.
